Got a few spare hours?

Then you CAN help us!

Interested in Volunteering?  One of the ways that United Way of Northwest Connecticut keeps its administration and fundraising costs so low is that hundreds of volunteers donate their time each year to help make it work. Our volunteers are diverse and represent companies and towns throughout Northwest Connecticut.  Get involved in our community by becoming a United Way volunteer!

Campaign Volunteer Opportunities – It’s never too early to start thinking about the 2007 campaign.  A few hours of your time spent contacting persons you know and pointing out the merits of our United Way can be a great help in our mission to assist our agencies serving the community.  We are currently serving 6 out of 10 people in the Northwest Corner.  We need volunteers to solicit your fellow employees or call on your colleagues to support the United Way. There’s plenty you can do to help out!  Let us know of a particular interest you have and we will be in touch with you as the proper time approaches. Where would you like to help?  Below are the divisions of the Campaign and this fall's division leaders:

Citizen's Review Volunteer Opportunities Who decides where the money goes?  YOU…and concerned, caring people like you!  Each year the United Way recruits community volunteers to allocate funds in support of area health and human services. Volunteers help to ensure that contributors’ dollars are distributed in an accountable, responsible manner.  This is achieved through reviewing the programs and budgets of agencies and making funding recommended to the United Way Board of Directors.  Volunteers annually participate in one of 5 panels that are organized by broad categories of service.  Each panel is composed of 5–7 volunteers, reflecting the diversity of our community.

Interested in Volunteering with one of our Partner Agencies? Please click on the website’s agency page and call or email the agency that interests you directly.

Day of Caring Volunteers - A way for your business to show your support for one of our agencies by helping in a hands-on project. Volunteers donate their time for a project that an agency does not have the time, manpower, or funding for.  It is an opportunity for an agency to save money and for a volunteer to connect with that agency and its mission. The next Day of Caring is scheduled for Friday, September 21, 2007.  Click here!
