The following volunteer opportunities are now available:
This committee plays an advisory role and shares community needs with the United Way Board of Directors. Members are interested in advancing the common good in Northwest CT. Meets quarterly.
Plans the annual golf tournament. Volunteers are needed to recruit golfers, sponsors, and raffle prizes. Also helps with set up on the day of the event. Meets monthly until May
Develops campaign material (brochures, posters) and an advertising campaign. Meets monthly or as needed.
Volunteer opportunities include securing food drop-off locations, calling on businesses, schools and other organizations to encourage participation, arranging food deliveries to depots, and promoting the drive to the media. Will meet 3 or 4 times before March.
Communicate with United Way agencies, other non-profits, and civic leaders to arrange projects; recruit volunteers; ensure that necessary materials are provided; coordinate any details for the day of the event. Meets monthly until the day.
